#5274 backup-restore: httpd service failed to start after backup
Closed: Invalid None Opened 8 years ago by mbasti.

Unable to start httpd service after ipa-restore

Steps to reproduce:
1. dnf install freeipa-server freeipa-server-dns
2. create snapshot
3. ipa-server-install --setupd-dns
4. ipa-backup
5. restore snapshot
6. ipa-restore

Reproducible on F22:

Additional info:

Aug 31 17:07:39 vm-214.example.com ipa-httpd-kdcproxy[6917]: ipa : INFO KDC proxy enabled
Aug 31 17:07:39 vm-214.example.com systemd[1]: Failed to start The Apache HTTP Server.
Aug 31 17:07:39 vm-214.example.com systemd[1]: Unit httpd.service entered failed state.
Aug 31 17:07:39 vm-214.example.com systemd[1]: httpd.service failed.

/var/log/httpd/errors is empty

When I started httpd manually, it worked (systemctl start httpd) then 'ipactl start' was able to start httpd too.

FreeIPA 4.2.1 was released, moving to 4.2.x.

I've tried to reproduce this with 4.2.3 on Fedora 23 with no success. I believe this is some hard-to-catch race condition and since there is really easy workaround I propose closing with "worksforme".

Closing due to inactivity and comment 3.
