The idviews design page (http://www.freeipa.org/page/V4/Migrating_existing_environments_to_Trust) contains info on how sssd cache objects are constructed if views are in effect in section 4.3 mainly.
We should amend it with the changes we did to support client side views in sssd.
I propose the following change:
SSSD Local view
SSSD supports creating a local view on the client machine that is used to manage client-side overrides. The name of the view is "LOCAL" which is a reserved name that can't be used as a name for IPA view.
I'm not sure to which section it belongs since I can see it in all three Design, Implementation and Management.
We can also create a ticket to prohibit IPA tools to create a view named LOCAL.
FreeIPA 4.2.1 was released, moving to 4.2.x.
