pytest raises an exception when it sees multiple top-level modules with the same name. IPA includes several packages that define their own "setup.py", and all of them are imported for doctesting, unless ignored manually.
Asked upstream (pytest #502) to see if this should be handled there; if not it would be easy to make a plugin for this.
