#4677 ipa-client-install --uninstall ignores --noac option
Closed: wontfix 5 years ago Opened 9 years ago by pvoborni.

Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla (product Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7): Bug 1158826

Description of problem:

  • ipa-client-install with --noac option calls authconfig (to set NIS domain)
  • ipa-client-install --uninstall --noac calls authconfig (multiple times)

Expected state:

ipa-client-install with --noac option won't do any call to authconfig because authconfig can't deal with recursive calls.

See Bug 1158826 for more information - especially strace results.

Note:

Authconfig is a legacy tool and therefore it's easier to fix this recursive issue on IPA's side that authconfig's.

Not a priority, as said, authconfig is a legacy tool. Moving to Future Releases, we will see if there is an interest for this ticket.

Thank you taking time to submit this request for FreeIPA. Unfortunately this bug was not given priority and the team lacks the capacity to work on it at this time.

Given that we are unable to fulfil this request I am closing the issue as wontfix. To request re-consideration of this decision please reopen this issue and provide additional technical details about its importance to you.
