Closed: wontfix 3 years ago by pcech. Opened 10 years ago by dpal.

Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla (product Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7): Bug 1066833

Description of problem:

request for enhancement, IdM/IPA should configure the disk space monitoring
feature of 389-ds-base described at

  http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Director
y_Server/9.0/html/Administration_Guide/diskmonitoring.html

  http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Director
y_Server/9.0/html/Configuration_Command_and_File_Reference/Core_Server_Configur
ation_Reference.html#nsslapd-disk-monitoring-preserve-logging

If /var/ is full, the dirsrv will not start.

In a customer's environment, ns-slapd would not start properly and loop during
startup:

[13/Feb/2014:14:51:13 -0500] - 389-Directory/1.2.11.15 B2013.238.2155 starting
up
[14/Feb/2014:08:01:34 -0500] - 389-Directory/1.2.11.15 B2013.238.2155 starting
up
[14/Feb/2014:08:03:42 -0500] - 389-Directory/1.2.11.15 B2013.238.2155 starting
up

and named would fail, as well as IPA.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

389-ds-base-1.2.11.15-22.el6_4.x86_64
ipa-server-3.0.0-26.el6_4.2.x86_64

Moving back to needs triage as it affects some productions systems again.

The FreeIPA 4.2 was already shaped (see [[milestone:FreeIPA 4.2]] milestone), this does not fit. Pushing out.
