In some cases it is really useful to be able to consistently change the trust password. A tool should be provided that properly aligns all AD objects including krberos keys and other password holding objects used by the samba pieces.
One clear case is the MS interop suite which needs the trust password in order to decrypt traffic and verify proper behavior.
