#363 install not using hostname provided

Created 7 years ago by rcritten
Modified a year ago

The issue is using a different hostname for the IPA server than hostname returns. This may simply not be a supported configuration but we do prompt for the hostname in the installer.

The reason things are failing is because we are using the actual hostname when configuring everything including:

  • keytabs
  • SSL certificates
  • Apache hostname redirection

ipa-join is hitting the IPA server and getting redirected because it is trying to contact the hostname from the install which doesn't match the hostname of the machine.

Not sure but might affect CLI.
