#2202 Tune samba4 package for different plattforms
Closed: Fixed None Opened 12 years ago by sbose.

When building for Fedora 16 or 17 (currently rawhide) samba4 shall try to use the system provided lib{tbd|talloc|tevent|ldb}. Current versions of the packages are available in the ipa-devel repo. A future RHEL-7 build should also use the system libraries.

For the time being it would make sense to use only the internal version of those libraries when building on RHEL-6. Here the related header files (tdb.h, talloc.h, tevent.h, ldb.h) should be install as well. Since they are not install automatically by the waf build I think it is sufficient to just copy them in the install section of the spec file.

Does this mean that new versions of the T libraries are not required in RHEL6?

You can build now with or without tevent, talloc and ldb libraries. We are building against system librariesn in F16 and RHEL7. It is easy to change the defaults for different platforms.
