We are planning on adding a task interface to the automember plug-in in 389. This will allow one to create a task entry in 389 that causes the automember plug-in to scan existing entries and check them against the defined automember rules. The way automember currently works is that newly added entries are the only ones checked against the defined rules.
Once this task interface is added to 389, it would be nice to add a CLI to FreeIPA to kick off the automember scan task. I won't have the exact steps for this until it is added to 389, but one will need to specify a search base and filter when creating the task. All matching entries will be checked against the automember rules.
The 389 bug for this is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=747403
This RFE should be fixed with ticket #3752 currently planned for 3.4, marking as duplicate.
Duplicate - clearing Bugzilla todo flag.
