one drawback of using the hash instead of the module name is that you can't easily figure out which koji build belongs to your module. I'd like to have some tool that makes finding the builds easier so that I can monitor progress/failures/completion
I'm not sure what you would really need this for but if necessary, you can query PDC for it.

The patch to increase the size of the tag names in koji was accepted. Once that is rolled out, we can change the policy in pdc-updater to use more meaningful tag names again. Until then, there's not much we can do.

It's really just a patch in pdc-updater and should be re-filed there.
