Hi @t0xic0der thank you for your Hatch submission. Your plan is ambitious, but you have an amazing crew of organizers gathered here, and I think it's gonna be great!

Please provide a couple more pieces of info. If you could separate the info by each of the mini-events proposed, that would be helpful.
- Approximately how many attendees do you expect
- Approximate breakdown of costs
- Any links to COVID-19 guidelines for the region and venue where the event will be located

Hi @t0xic0der - following up on the questions from my last comment.

I also want to touch base on swag, as shipping to India presents challenges currently. I can work with our shipping support to see if it is feasible to get it by the dates you have indicated, but I need to confirm- is it okay if the swag shipment goes to the Red Hat Pune office? I think that would be the best option and preferred by our shipping support.

If they say yes we can get it there, I will work on getting the request in and we will hope for the best! If they say no, I think we should explore ordering some swag locally.

As the event would take place in Red Hat Pune office, it makes sense to have the swags shipped over there.

Yes, please feel free to have them delivered over there and addressed to me.

In case the international shipment is troublesome or is likely to cause delays, please let us know and we would arrange something locally.

HI @t0xic0der thank you for this info! A couple notes:

  • You are good to move forward on organizing this Hatch meetup. Please provide any updates here.
  • Any persons who are non Red Hat employees receiving travel/accommodations need to fill out the funding eligibility form on the budget pagure [0] before they book any travel/accommodations. Red Hatters who will need travel/accommodations should follow their regional requirements and perform a cost center transfer (in this case I think I will need to assist with the booking for these and will reach out by email to arrange that)
  • @isagordillo will be working on some promotions that will include this Hatch event. She will follow up here with any details/requests related to that
  • Please fill out a swag shipment request form so we can get swag shipped out to you [1]
  • I would encourage you to take pictures or a group picture at the event
  • After the event has taken place, please write up an event report for the CommBlog. It can be brief (1-2 paragraphs).

Hi @t0xic0der the discussion Hatch Promo post is linked: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/hatch-with-fedora-is-happening-all-over-the-world/39899.

Thanks for creating the post :)

Would you be able to translate the discussion post?

Sure. I will translate this to Hindi.

P.S. Please allow me to provide more context on why I picked Hindi over some other language for a nation as diverse as India. Although there is no defined official language in India, the article 343(1) of the Indian constitution specifically mentions that "The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script. The form of numerals to be used for the official purposes of the Union shall be the international form of Indian numerals."

Attached also is a link to a HackMD I created for translations https://hackmd.io/@isagordillo/HyNl6YwFc/edit

When do you need it by?

Hi @t0xic0der
Please review and edit this tweet.
"Join your fellow Fedorans at a special Hatch (hatched egg emoji) in Pune, India on July 6th, 7th, and 8th. Thank you to (clapping hands)Akashdeep Dhar, who organized this amazing Hatch!"

Thank you

Thanks for the initial draft, @isagordillo.

Here's my edit.

"Join your fellow Fedorans at a special Hatch (hatched egg emoji) event in Pune, India on July 6th, 7th, and 8th. Thank you to (clapping hands) @t0xic0der, who organized this amazing Hatch!"

NB. I simply replaced my name with my Twitter username (which happens to be the same as my FAS account username).

Hi Isa :)
I would recommend adding both organizers name to the tweet

"

diff: added and @samyak__jn in the tweet to include both organizers

Hi @t0xic0der and @jnsamyak

DEI team is working on putting together some content for the upcoming FWD. It would be great if someone at the Hatch can get photos of the event along with some video content.

Video- We are inspired by the Budapest Flock to Fedora.

Linked below is the FWD resource pack where you will scroll down and find the "Community Script"- use this script for speakers to follow! (This can be said in any language they feel most comfortable articulating in!)

Thank you!

Thank you for hosting one of Fedora's first ever Fedora Hatch meetups. We want to ensure that we have documentation from the Hatch events, so we can improve for next time. To do this we ask if you can please provide any photos, event recap, or blog posts from the event. The Fedora Event Report template, attached to this comment, can be filled out or used as a starting point to guide you in recapping the event. If you already have a blog or Discussion post covering your Hatch, please provide a link.
