#303 [Talk-25] Fedora Websites and Apps Progress, Projects, GetFedora reboot, Contribution and QnA

What do I propose?

I, on the behalf of the Fedora Websites and Apps team, want to propose a (nearly) 25-minute long talk/presentation where we would be talking about the following topics in greater detail. There is a very strong likeliness of the call to be live and not prerecorded but I would update this ticket again if there are any changes in the decision here.

  1. We'd be talking about the progress that the Fedora Websites and Apps team has made so far in the span of multiple months of its activity in the community. This would involve every single thing - ranging from detailed planning to elaborate execution. This would require to be covered by one speaker from the team.

  2. We'd go into detail about the projects that come under the Fedora Websites and Apps team responsibility and, explain properly what each one does, list notable people who have contributed to it and what technology stack they make use of in order to keep doors open. This would require to be covered by one speaker from the team.

  3. GetFedora reboot, in all honesty, could have been included in point 2 but keeping in mind the diverse planning and management that is put into use in order to make it happen and, the fact that GetFedora represents the Fedora Project community to the outside world - this deserves to be a different topic where we'd go into details about what has been done so far and what has been planned for future. This would require to be covered by one speaker from the team.

  4. Talking about keeping the doors open in point 2, the next thing that we would talk about is how folks who are a part of the community (and the ones who are not yet) can participate in the Fedora Websites and Apps team. We'd start from how one can get in touch with us and explore the details on how one can level up their contribution in the team. This would require to be covered by one speaker from the team.

  5. Finally after being done with so many topics in detail, we would keep some time aside for questions that the talk participants might have. As the questions would be mostly based on the topics that we have covered so far in the previous four topics, the previous four speakers can take chances to answer the questions put forth by the folks.

If it was noticed already, I seem to have made use of the word "detail" a lot while listing the topics - and I'll tell why. We are trying to encourage participation from potential new members and cultivate that of the existing ones. In order to make that happen, the folks should know what they are getting into and the information is critical in nature. P

I just shortened the proposed duration of the talk from 50 min to 25 min. We could use that amount of time in some other talk (say https://pagure.io/flock/issue/343) that we'd want to follow up with.

Hi @t0xic0der @ramyaparimi @thunderbirdtr @lilyx - Thank you for your submission!

@riecatnor thank you for the information. The time and date work for me

The time and date works for me as well.

@riecatnor things are a little crazy on my end and I realized I won’t be able to present for nest. @sayaksarkar has been actively involved in making the presentation and it’s apt that his name should be included in the official presenters list. I will be an attendee/volunteer on that day. Please delete my name as one of the presenters.
Thank you 😊
