Fedora Infra and Releng doc hackfest

What is your proposal?

Fedora Infra and Releng are large areas with lots of documentation. Some documentation may be a little out of date and some documentation may be missing which is outside the scope of this proposal. When starting work with Fedora, due to the large amount of documentation being spread over multiple places, it can be difficult to find the desired information easily. An up to date entry point which brings the current documentation together would be desirable. This could be achieved in a number of different ways. It could act as a centralised index for existing documentation, or as new place to merge documentation to. A combination of both may also be a potential solution. The current starting point https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure is slightly out of date and should be updated and potentially moved to https://pagure.io/infra-docs-fpo/.

This should also present an opportunity learn or upskill on antora and asciidoc and improve knowledge on the current Fedora Infarstructure.

3 hours should be enough for this

Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the virtual room for this to succeed? This could be the audience you need to reach, other participants in the conversation, or other stakeholders.

Is this a…
* [Hack-half]: Half-day Hackfest (more like 3 hours)

Who are you?

  • Name: Mark O'Brien
  • FAS ID: mobrien
  • Timezone: Irish Standard Time (GMT+1)

Just a note for @mattdm who I know will ask: https://pagure.io/infra-docs-fpo/ is meant to land on docs.fedoraproject.org and replace the wiki pages at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure

@humaton you may also be interested in this ;-)

Timezone: IST

Three letters codes for timezone are bad! IST can be:

  • India Standard Time
  • Israel Standard Time
  • Irish Standard Time

And yes, I've ran into this while working on fedocal a while back :)

Good point. I've updated the ticket with the full timezone name

I love the idea of this, but I don't love the idea of all of these people being away from Nest for half a day. Maybe we could plan this as a hackfest day completely separately from Nest?

Unfortunately, your session has not been accepted for Nest with Fedora 2020. Thank you for your submission and please submit again for future Flocks/Nests. We look forward to seeing you at Nest!
