[Workshop]
Live Chat or video
(can be a 1 hour or 2 hour workshop)

= Questions/Requested Information

  1. What is your proposal?

Fedora Marketing 20.20

Marketing has changed a lot, so I would like to explore new ways to showcase what we are and do inside Fedora to attract newer audiences. This would help create a more solid and consistent campaign that we can all help support and get the help our contributors need.

This workshop would work to discuss new ideas to improve the approach to new contributors and keep motivated old contributors, since it's not just about how to get new people to help with the project, but also explore ways to reward and recognize the work of our current members.

  1. Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the virtual room for this to succeed? This could be the audience you need to reach, other participants in the conversation, or other stakeholders.

The idea is to everyone to participate. I would like to call marketing, diversity and boards specifically to participate.

  • 2 hours (110 minutes): Workshop
    (or 1 hour)
  1. Who are you?
  • Name: Maria "tatica" Leandro
  • FAS ID: tatica
  • IRC Nick, if not FAS ID: tatica
  • Timezone: GMT-5

I will definitely attend this session, although two-hour virtual sessions are hard for me to attend beginning to end. I could join to represent the D&I Team perspective for 30-60 minutes.

This sounds awesome. I will be there for sure.

It seems like there's some overlap with #236?

@jflory7 Thx! tho I think that a single hour is more than enough for what I have in mind, but that option was not listed (reason I wrote that specifically)

Hey @mattdm - I wouldn't mind to combine forces with @x3mboy and @riecatnor if they like the idea.

My main goal is to build the marketing pack with new and old items, so by the end of the workshop we have something that can be either produce locally by our members but also be shipped if produced in big quantities. Something like a digital/physical box with everything that's needed for any small or big event. To save time, we would use part of our current stack of designs, but also try to incorporate some new goodies to make it stand.

Also add a bit of social media discussion on how some of our services have gone kinda forgotten, and how to bring new interest into our community using the latest media apps.

What do you think?

I don't mind joining forces either, but as I commented, this is more targeted to produce some assets like the digital box, and I think in flock#236 more oriented in the workflow of both teams. Maybe we can do Just one session and cover both perspectives. @riecatnor wdyt?

@tatica & @x3mboy I think merging the two into one workshop is a great idea! Copying the text here from https://pagure.io/flock/issue/236 and closing the other ticket.

  1. What is your proposal?

Marketing and design joining forces. The idea is to generate a workflow where both marketing and design team, can work together to accomplish more of what they do now. The basic idea here would be to ease the way for both teams to produce assets and guidelines that ambassadors, advocates and each community member can use to promote Fedora everywhere.

  1. Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the virtual room for this to succeed?

All existing members of both teams, ideally a mindshare and a council rep (that hopefully is not the same person)

List each person by their name and FAS ID, as shown below:

@x3mboy
@riecatnor
3. Is this a…

2 hours (110 minutes): Workshop

  1. Anything else we need to know?

Nope

  1. Who are you?

Name: Eduard Lucena
FAS ID: x3mboy

Hi! Nest with Fedora is beginning shortly. I want to thank you for speaking at this years contributor conference, your time and effort is appreciated :)

I have outlined the basic process for speakers below. If you have questions, feel free to drop them here and I will do my best to answer them before the event begins.

How to get to your session:
Enter the event
Go to Sessions tab on the left at the correct time
Click your session
Accept permissions for audio/video
You're in!

Sessions are set up as moderated by the speakers. There is a maximum of 10 people on screen at once, though people can leave the screen and different attendees can request permission to join. The speaker(moderator) will have a moderation panel on the bottom left hand side to allow or deny the request. If you feel you need someone besides yourself to help with moderation, please make sure they are registered for the event and provide their full name here. Anyone can watch and participate in the chat. Sessions will be recorded.

To share slides, there is an option at the bottom to share your screen, where you can choose the window/tab to share. To share a video with audio, you can share your screen and play the audio on loud speaker (so your mic picks it up). Screen sharing works just as other video conferencing tools (like Google Meet, Bluejeans etc).

If you have technical issues during your session, contact one of the attendees labelled "Organiser" or myself, Marie Nordin, through the platforms direct message function.

Cheers!
