#168 [Talk-50] Build Your Own Fedora Remix
Closed: Resolved 3 years ago by riecatnor. Opened 4 years ago by tjzabel.

What is your proposal?

We are proposing to discuss what Fedora Remixes are, how they benefit the Fedora Community, and why you would want to make one. Throughout this talk, we will talk about our experiences building a Fedora Remix, why we built it, how someone can build their own Remix, and what improvements we think would benefit the Fedora Remix ecosystem for the future.

Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the room for this to succeed? This could be the audience you need to reach, other participants in the conversation, or other stakeholders.

List each person by their name and FAS ID, as shown below:

Speakers:

Audience:

  • Justin Flory (@jflory7)
  • Neal Gompa (@ngompa)
  • Anyone who is interested in Fedora Remixes!

Is this a…

  • 50 minute Talk

Anything else we need to know?

We simply need a projector screen, and possibly an HDMI cable.

Who are you?

  • Name: Tim Zabel
  • FAS ID: Tjzabel
  • IRC Nick, if not FAS ID: tjzabel

This looks like an awesome talk, especially given the current state of affairs for remix documentation. I'd love to see this talk. :)

Closing due to speaker conflicts and time constraints.

This topic will continue to be developed upon, but I do not feel it is ready for a meaningful August presentation. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more :)

@tjzabel This does seem like a great potential talk. Let us know if you'd like to prepare it for another conference -- we may be able to provide some funding for that. If not, there's always next year :)

@mattdm Hmm, if there is interest in having this talk presented at Flock this year, I am still able to present. I wanted to build out a lot of documentation and add a few items to our own Remix prior to Flock, so folks could revisit the docs once Flock is over.

However, I am able to give just the presentation on the step-by-step on what's actually required to build a Remix, and build out the docs in the months after. Otherwise, I am open to presenting at another conference, or simply wait until Flock 2020 :)

Opening in case there is still interest in a talk. Feel free to close again if otherwise.
