#741 Inactive packager detected for user cwickert
Closed: Removed from packagers by bcotton. Opened by bcotton.

Hello @cwickert,

during our periodic check as per the "Inactive packagers policy"
we detected no activity from you as a packager, nor in
other Fedora community places, like Bodhi or mailing lists.

In order to reduce security risks from possible accounts hijacking
we're trying to contact you to know if you're still reachable and
if your email set in Fedora Account System (chr**@gmail.com) is still valid.

Please, let us know if you're still intersted in participating
in Fedora and if you still need your account to be listed in the packager group.

Without any reply from you, in two months we will proceed to remove
your account from the packager group. Your account will still be active.

Hi Ben,

I am no longer active in Fedora. My life changed, I have a family, a new job, and no time left I can dedicate to the project. Sorry I never found the time to officially announce my departure and say farewell.

I contacted @kevin a while back to close a mailing list I owned, but we should probably use this ticket to make a clean slate. That means

  • remove me from the 'packager' group.
  • remove me from the 'packager-sponsors' distribution list.
  • reassign/mass-orphan all packages I still (might) own. I tried to find new maintainers and granted all requests I got, but I still own some packages.
  • close/reassign all my bugs. For packages that have co-maintainers, the bugs should probably assigned, for orphaned packages they should be closed and/or reassigned to nobody.

Frankly speaking, I don't even know the processes in Fedora these days, so your help is appreciated. If there is anything else I need to do or where I can help, please let me know.

Thanks! I'll open an infrastructure ticket to remove you from packager sponsors. The rest will happen naturally once you're removed from the packager group. Thanks for all you've done for Fedora over the years!

You are welcome, it was a pleasure. Learned a lot, made new friends and won't forget these days.

Meanwhile I took care of most packages myself. I orphaned most due to missing/inactive upstream and gave others to co-maintainers. I'm no longer sole owner of any packages.

Can you please CC me to the infra-ticket? I require some more clean-up, e.g. I still keep getting mail for the medical SIG even though I am not subscribed to the list any more.

User cwickert will be removed from packager group.
