I should have requested this originally, I suppose. As part of the sponsorship changes, someone needs to be able to elevate packagers to sponsors. For now I can ping one of the existing sponsors:
but moving forward it might be nice to be able to do so myself. I'm not sure if some of the people on that list are still involved at all in sponsorship or even packaging.

Definitely +1 to this. But I think we should also discuss this when next we meet, not to affirm this particular action (which I feel is a no-brainer) but to decide how we want to set criteria for future requests for this access. As the new sponsorship process becomes a wildfire success, scalability and busfactor issues will come into play and we'll need more admins.
If we are voting about adding tibbs into group of people who can change packagers into sponsors then +1.
+1 to adding tibbs, and at least a short discussion would also be useful.
