= Proposal topic = I'd like to propose a reconfiguration of how Fedora package git branches are structured. This particular ticket is to get pre-approval on the idea, to spend the time working on transition.

= Problem space =
Git branches in a directory structure ("f13/master", "f13/user/foo/bar") are a tad bit confusing and unwieldily. Moving to simple branch names such as "f14" and "f14-user-bar" we can eliminate directory vs file conflicts in branch names, as well as eliminate differences in local branch names vs remote branch names.

This proposal was approved at the 2011-01-05 meeting.
It would be good to announce things and keep maintainers in the loop on schedule of changes.
