#385 Zim / zim package issues.
Closed None Opened 13 years ago by kevin.

Background:

There is a Zim package in fedora. It's perl based and has been in and maintained for a while.
Recently, upstream switched to using python and has re-written their project who's tar is named zim. The current Fedora Zim maintainer wishes to fork the perl version and continue to maintain it.
The new zim review submitter wishes to maintain the current upstream version (in python) for Fedora.

(Thats my summary. Feel free to correct it below)

See the 'zim' review at:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=563844
for more info.

FESCo should decide if we want to reassign ownership of the Zim package, allow the zim package in to obsolete it or some other action.

Input from FPC folks welcome.

I've added some FPC and infrastructure notes in the latest comment on that ticket:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=563844#c49

Added meeting keyword to discuss at 2010-06-01 meeting.

At today's fesco meeting we decided that [Zz]im should be the python package and the fork should use a new name.

We would really appreciate it if the maintainers can work things out past that.
If nothing has been settled by next week, we will revisit.

This seems to be resolved now. Thanks for everyone's hard work on it.
