Update Fedora's Lua interpreter to 5.5.
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the Discourse discussion linked above. Additional discussion may happen on the Fedora Devel mailing list.

Assuming that the compat package will be correctly named (lua5.4, not lua54): +1
+1 with @decathorpe's caveat.
FWIW, I expect the same too. The compat package should be lua5.4
lua5.4
FYI: @spot
+1 with caveat
Yes, the compat package will be "lua5.4". Initially, it will just be "lua5.4-libs" unless we are unable to build a dependency against 5.5.
Lua 5.5 drops lua_numbertointeger() which I know at least causes a build failure for nmap right now if you want to build nmap with lua enabled.
+1 as long as 5.4 is available for now
After a week: APPROVED (+8, 0, 0)
(We don't have a clear list of the caveats, but it seems that the requests that were stated are being taken into account, so need to complicate things.)
