#3239 Change: acpica-tools: Remove Big Endian Support
Closed: Accepted 6 months ago by salimma. Opened 6 months ago by amoloney.

The acpica-tools package has supported big-endian architectures for several years, but it has few uses. For Fedora 41, remove all of the patches for big-endian support and remove s390x from the list of supported architectures.

Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended.
The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed.
See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.

REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the devel list thread linked above.

Note that this is not a deprecation, this Change describes a removal. @ahs3, please update the document accordingly.

Yes, please amend the document to make it clear this is being removed.

+1

The fact that both the title and text of the Change proposal still need to be amended and are currently wrong and / or misleading, I'd rather not vote or approve this yet ... once all mentions of "deprecate" are replaced with "remove", it would be fine with me though.

Page has been renamed and "deprecate" replaced by "remove", as requested.

After a week, APPROVED (+7, 0, 0)
