We want to update the Polkit rule currently controlling access to the rpm-ostree daemon on Fedora Atomic Desktops to do the following: Enable users to update the system without being an administrator or typing a password. Restrict the current rule for administrators to make more operations explicitly require a password.
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the devel list thread linked above.
Update: this discussion is still active so I will hold off on the post notifying that the change has been submitted to FESCo for another few days to see if either a) the change proposal owner is happy for it to proceed through FESCo voting as is or b) a conclusion in the discussion is reached.
There have been no further replies on the discussion thread as of 11 days ago so I have marked it as now with FESCo for voting. Please treat as a normal Change request from this point. Thank you!
