#2857 Change proposal: Minizip Renaming
Closed: Accepted 5 days ago by zbyszek. Opened a month ago by bcotton.

Renaming the "minizip" package to "minizip-ng" and renaming the "minizip-compat" zlib subpackage to "minizip" to align with the upstream naming.

Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended.
The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed.
See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.

Discussed in today's FESCo meeting. @zbyszek has some suggestions for your proposal and will add them here when he gets time.

Thanks @zbyszek!

I'll reset the vote clock and pause it until @zbyszek provides the suggestions and @ljavorsk has a chance to address them.

@zbyszek and I have already provided feedback on the original mailing list thread.

I've replied to your proposals. Please take a look at the reply so I can edit the change accordingly.

I'm +1 assuming that the Change is updated to include the revisions from the mailing list thread.

Just updated it, feel free to take another look

@bcotton I haven't seen this change in the FESCo agenda written by @mhroncok. Is this one approved, or what is the reason for it?

@ljavorsk you commented 7 days ago that the requested changes have been made, so it's waiting for votes with that time as the starting point.

+1 for the new version

I support the general idea, and in this case I’m going to blindly trust @zbyszek’s analysis on the details.

+1 on the changes following the ML discussion

After a week, the vote is

APPROVED (+4,0,-0)
