Trying to fix two security issues https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=194953 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1955611 I made a soname bump. As far as I have seen, this is only in f32. Carl Georg help me and already rebuild:
audacious-plugins-3.10.1-8.fc32 Carla-2.2.0-2.fc32 csound-6.15.0-2.fc32 denemo-2.4.0-2.fc32 drumstick-1.1.3-3.fc32 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-1.16.2-4.fc32 minuet-20.08.3-2.fc32 openttd-1.11.2-2.fc32 prboom-plus-2.5.1.4-19.fc32 qsynth-0.9.2-2.fc32 scummvm-2.2.0-3.fc32 tuxguitar-1.5.3-3.fc32
The following are not building OK: ardour5-5.12.0-19.fc32 - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67397828 fluidsynth-dssi-1.0.0-22.fc32 - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67398025 lmms-1.1.3-16.fc32 - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67398113 muse-3.0.2-10.fc32 - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67398110 swami-2.0.0-22.20110806svn386.fc32 - https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=67398310
Please advice on how to proceed.
ardour5: According to Guido Aulisi: if I remeber well ardour5 is not compatible with latest fluidsynth. Ardour5 has been obsoleted by Ardour6 in f33+.
fluidsynth-dssi: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=68027736 Seems it works if version from f33 is taken.
lmms: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=68029387 RPM build errors: error: File not found: /builddir/build/BUILDROOT/lmms-1.1.3-19.fc32.i386/usr/libexec/RemoteVstPlugin*
muse: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=68031189 Seems it works if version from f33 is taken.
Maybe the devel list is a more appropriate venue for this "discussion"?
FESCo doesn't really have anything to do here, except maybe approve an Update Policy exception, but since the update containing the SONAME bump is already stable ...
Carl George told me to do so.
Well ... since the update is already stable, there's not much we can do. And f32 will be EOL within the week anyway
(Just to finish my task) swami: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=68268418 Seems it works if version from f33 is taken. + latest patch (%define __cmake_in_source_build 1) before it was retiered.
Thanks @pampelmuse for the pointers on those f33 fixes. All the affected packages have been rebuilt, and are in the these updates:
There is nothing for FESCo do do here, I just asked @pampelmuse to file this ticket for awareness and to see if any other steps needed to be taken. If there is nothing else this ticket can be closed out.
