#2576 Fedora 34 incomplete changes
Closed: Accepted 3 years ago by zbyszek. Opened 3 years ago by bcotton.

On Tuesday, 9 Februray we reached the Change Checkpoint: Completion deadline (testable). At this milestone all the F34 Changes should be testable, which is indicated by "MODIFIED" status of a tracking bug. A Bugzilla query shows all the tracking bugs which are not in "MODIFIED" state and are not considered testable. System-Wide Changes with the contingency date in bold are past the stated contingency date.

These changes are presented for FESCo review to determine what action should be taken. The next deadline is 23 February when all changes should be 100% code complete.

Note that the Bugzilla reminder was apparently not posted to all F34 Change Tracker bugs yesterday, so this list should dramatically shorten in the next day or so as people respond to the delayed reminders

System-Wide Changes

  • Restart services at end of rpm transaction
    • Owner: @zbyszek
    • Contingency mechanism: Revert to previous mechanism. This will require a revert of changes to the spec file and a rebuild of the package.
    • Contingency deadline: beta freeze
  • Patches in Forge macros - Auto macros - Detached rpm changelogs
    • Owner: @nim
    • There is no contingency plan because the redhat-rpm-config merge will happen or not. If it does not happen, i18n, fonts and Go Changes that are/were envisioned for F33 or F34 will be postponed indefinitely.
  • Use ibus-m17n as the default IME for Vietnamese
    • Owner: @mfabian
    • Contingency mechanism: Revert comps and gnome-desktop3
    • Contingency deadline: Beta release
  • LLVM 12
    • Owner: @tstellar
    • Contingency mechanism: (What to do? Who will do it?) If there are major problems with LLVM 12, the compatibility package provide a way for other packages to continue using LLVM 11. In the worst case, we could always revert LLVM back to LLVM 11, but this would only happen if their were an unprecedented amount of problems.
    • Contingency deadline: Beta Freeze
  • Use ibus-m17n as the default IME for Sinhala
    • Owner: @mfabian
    • Contingency mechanism: Revert comps and gnome-desktop3
    • Contingency deadline: Beta release
