The current default Japanese IME(input method engine) is ibus-kkc and the default is going to change to ibus-anthy to develop Japanese IME more effectively.
I don't know much about Japanese and these input methods. One thing that worried me that ibus-kkc had last change in 2014 while ibus-anthy somewhere in 2011..
+-0.
I didn't like us moving to another unmaintained IME, but it appears that @fujiwara has forked anthy and intends to maintain it, which is... okay as long as it is maintained.

The Change also pointed out mozc and suggested it was only discarded because it uses Qt5. I don't think this is a sufficiently good reason to discard it, since Workstation ships with Qt5 with QGnomePlatform specifically for this purpose. We already ship one Qt5 application in Workstation (Fedora Media Writer). That said, I don't know much about mozc beyond what was stated in this Change, so... 🤷♂️
mozc
Insofar as the Change in itself, I think this is okay. I would like to see us move to fctix5 soon, though...
