#2327 F32 Self-Contained Change: Provide OpenType Bitmap Fonts
Closed: Accepted 4 years ago by decathorpe. Opened 4 years ago by bcotton.

This proposal plans to provide some additional popular bitmap fonts in OpenType format to use with pango.

By providing some bitmap fonts from BDF/PCF format to OpenType format, applications like gnome-terminal can continue to use some bitmap fonts with the pango 1.44 package.

I'll do my best to read through this soon, but I was really swamped with other tasks prior and during devconf.cz so I have not yet had the chance to get familiar with this proposal.

@pwu @tagoh I'm sorry.

FWIW, my vote is +1 as I defer to the people who actually know about fonts to make the right decision.

@bcotton With (+1, ±0, -0) This ticket has not received sufficient votes within a week, and the next FESCo meeting will only be on 2020-02-03, since we decided to skip tomorrow's meeting due to conference travels etc. It will probably take a few more days for things to settle down.

+1

But yeah, with current scheduling and number of votes here, it's going to take a little more time on our end.

Votes in ticket are (+2, ±0, -0), so adding to the topics for Monday's meeting.

Sorry, I'm just getting used to the voting procedure.

I read this:

If the week passes and the required number of votes have not been met, the proposal is extended by one further week and the minimum requirement becomes a single positive "for" vote. This is intended to ensure that proposals do not languish.

And since this ticket has been open for 2 weeks already, and has received (+2, ±0, -0) votes, this counts as accepted. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
