Mike is an active koji developer and in my dealings with him knows the
packaging guidelines well.

i have sent an email to packager-sponsors@

Hey Mike.

Could you note here that you are interested in becoming a sponsor? (which you have on IRC).

Also, could you talk a bit about who you intend to sponsor, how much time you have to mentor other contributors and your background with packaging?

Thanks.

Removing from agenda for now as I prepare for the feature meeting on Wednesday.

I am interested in becoming a sponsor.

The people I was initially interested in sponsoring have already been sponsored, so this isn't urgent.

I've been involved with Fedora infrastructure and release engineering for several years, and feel like I have a pretty good handle on the packaging process. I noticed a lot of the pending reviews are also awaiting sponsorship, so I thought becoming a sponsor would be a good way to help reduce that backlog. However, I haven't done a ton of reviews already, so I understand that objection.

I didn't realize "sponsor" was such a big deal, and I certainly didn't expect it to go to FESCo. I'm fine withdrawing my nomination for now, I'll come back when I've done more reviews. Any guidance as to how many reviews people would consider "enough"?
