#1934 F29 Self Contained Change: Minishift Spin
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by jkurik.

Minishift Spin

A Fedora Spin providing an easy way for minishift users to consume fedora as an ISO.

The Change page seems a little light on details, but consider me +1 for this change.

Hmm, in case of a Change that is really a new feature which cannot break anything, the only purpose of the Change process is to announce the new thing, to catch the attention of potential new users and adopters. In particular users who are not familiar with openshift/minishift. But that cannot work if the Change page contains almost no details. You need to assume that the Change page will be read by people who maybe possibly only heard of OpenShift, so no previous knowledge can be assumed.

Please, include basic information like
- is Fedora in this case to be used as a host or a guest, or maybe both? (OK, based on "how to test", I can guess, but this should be visible upfront.)
- is packaging of new stuff required, or is this just rearranging bits that we already have?
- what is the delivery format? Do you really intend to produce CD/DVD images?
- what can the user do with that product? Spin up an openshift instance, and then …?

I agree -- let's get more detail on the change page before voting.

Sorry, we were busy with the release, I will put those details soon.

@zbyszek @jsmith I updated the wiki with more details, let me know if you still have any more points to be part of it.

In the 2018-08-06 FESCo meeting, this spin was approved. (+1:5,+0:0,-1:0).
