For the next FESCo meeting to review: MySQL 8
Update of MySQL ( community-mysql package) in Fedora from 5.7 to 8.0 version.
I'm currently a -1 on this as written. Last I heard on the devel list, it sounded like this would not be a compatible update and I'm not convinced there is a solid strategy in place for handling the upgrades. I'd like to hear a more complete answer for how to handle upgrades before we accept this.
This was discussed in the FESCo meeting today: AGREED: FESCo asks the maintainer to respond to the questions about upgrade issues. We'll discuss this next week (+5, 0, 0)
