#1822 F28 System Wide Change: AArch64 Server Promotion
Closed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by jkurik.

For the next FESCo meeting to review:

Promote Aarch64 server technologies to Primary Architecture status. This would include the Server installer, the DVD installer ISOs, the Cloud (qcow2 images) and Docker base images to the same status as other primary Server architectures. This would NOT currently include other components such as Workstation images/installs, any of the various spins, or Fedora Atomic components.

The Server SIG met on Tuesday to discuss this. We made the following decision: "We will defer to the ARM SIG to propose up to four aarch64 boards that we will consider release-blocking for Server Edition. Any others will be treated as non-blocking, but supported if they pass blocker tests."

For the record "supported if they pass blocker tests" means that we will list them as available on getfedora.org.

@pbrobinson responded today on behalf of the ARM SIG that we will treat the following platforms as blocking for the release:

  • RPi3
  • Pine64
  • SBSA (virt)
