#1803 F28 System Wide Change: Reduce Initial Setup Redundancy
Closed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by jkurik.

For the next FESCo meeting to review:

Currently there is a high level of redundancy between the Anaconda installer and gnome-initial-setup. This change aims to eliminate these redundancies and streamline the initial user experience in Fedora Workstation.

Note: This Change has been deferred in F27: #1746

AGREED: FESCo agrees with the idea of removing redundency, however FESCo would like that redundecy to be removed from gome-initial-setup so that all fedora installations have consistent configuration (5:0:0) (dgilmore, 16:49:53)

Workstation WG would like to send some representatives to discuss this change proposal with FESCo at its next meeting.

Reopening and setting the meeting keyword.

I attended the Workstation WG meeting today and they raised some valid replies that are worth bringing up for discussion at this week's meeting. They intend to make sure that they send representatives this time.

#agreed The reduction of redundancy for workstation can happen in either anaconda or g-i-s at the working groups discretion provided the end results are consistent with the rest of Fedora. (+1:6, -1:0, +0:0)
