#1764 new orphan packages: gnome-shell-extension-sustmi*
Closed: Fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by terrycloth.

There's only one listing in Fedora Packages, but it's two GNOME Shell extensions:

  • gnome-shell-extension-sustmi-windowoverlay-icons.noarch
  • gnome-shell-extension-sustmi-historymanager-prefix-search.noarch

Neither has been updated in a long time. Consider RHBZ #901820, which reported that WindowOverlay Icons was incompatible with the then-current GNOME Shell 3.6 --- the bug reached end of life without any response from the package maintainer. More recently, I've tried commenting on another open request to update, saying I was willing to help. No response. I also made an admin request on PkgDB (just before it was deprecated), and posted to the Devel mailing list. Still no response from the package maintainer.

Based on the package changelog in Koji, the only updates to either "sustmi" package since 2012 have been automated mass rebuilds.

I already maintain packages for several other GNOME Shell extensions, so I'm willing and able to take over these as well.

Adding to the meeting agenda for today's (2017-08-18) FESCo meeting at 16:00 UTC. @terrycloth, @yaderv, would be great if you could both join.

Sorry I missed the meeting. I only just saw your comment. Was there any discussion without us?

We discussed this in the meeting yesterday and decided to orphan all @yaderv's packages. It may take a little while until this actually happens though as Fedora switched from pkgdb to pagure last week and things are a bit in flux right now.

  • AGREED: Orphan all yaderv's packages (+1:5, 0:0, -1:0) (kalev,
    17:10:18)

These packages have now been orphaned.

@terrycloth feel free to take them over now.
