#1727 F27 System Wide Change: Golang 1.9
Closed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by jkurik.

I would like to ask FESCo to review this Change proposal:

Rebase of Golang package to upcoming version 1.9 in Fedora 27, including rebuild of all dependent packages(pre-release version of Go will be used for mass rebuild).

I'm going to ask the change owner to work with the Fedora Packaging Committee and ensure that the Golang packaging guidelines are made official before I'm +1 to this change. It's been over 4 years since Golang entered Fedora and we have hundreds of packages written in Go already.

I disagree with that approach. Holding an update to a package hostage for work someone never signed up for doesn't seem fair.

I'm +1 to the Change.

@jwboyer point taken and I voted +1 during today's meeting
