I would like to ask FESCo to review this Change proposal:
Override kernel default for dm-crypt mappings of LUKS1 encrypted volumes via flag put in /etc/crypttab file. This change should affect only newly created encrypted storage based on LUKS1 format during installation.

+1 I guess
AGREED: F27 System Wide Change: Enable TRIM pass down to encrypted disks is approved (+5, 0, -0) (jforbes, 16:26:16)

As last time, I don't like the fact that the change proponents did not address the questions that were asked (neither then, nor now).
The purported performance benefits are not quantified (not even one measurement from change proponent's machine), as is the "negligible" performance penalty on rotational devices.
The trade-off between performance and data secrecy (deniability?) is not clearly explained and the users' preference for performance (again, how big a gain?) is stated as if it were a fact.
Based on the above, I'm -1 this time, even if it doesn't change the vote outcome.
