I was in the process of updating the Hadoop package and ran into a hard dependency on the htrace package. Here is my correspondence with rrati, the maintainer of htrace:

to me I don't have time any more to maintain this or any of my fedora packages. I've been meaning to orphan them. I gave ctubbsii commit access. If you or he would like to take over maintainership I'm happy to transfer it.

Hello, The htrace package is a compile dependency on another package I am trying to build for Fedora (hadoop 2.7.1). Are you still maintaining the htrace package? If so, do you have any plans to build it for a recent release? The last commit I see of yours was for F20. If you are unable to maintain this package any more could you grant access to ctubbsii <https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/packager/ctubbsii/> or myself? Thanks, Mike
Since it sounds like he would be OK with orphaning all of his packages (even though I only need one) I thought it would be best to just go ahead and submit ticket for them all. Here is an open bug for htrace: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1397872
rrati was able to grant me maintainership for htrace so that package does NOT need to be orphaned.
From today's FESCo meeting
Adam to contact rrati
I've emailed rrati, awaiting response.
rrati responded, he was orphaned all his packages. Closing ticket.
