I've been packaging things for Fedora for > 5 years. Mostly Java related packages. It occasionally happens that some package breaks other packages in an OSGi context. Many jars today don't have OSGi metadata in the manifests and I end up needing to add metadata to packages. Recent examples are [1][2].
Aside from the above, I work on the OpenJDK team, and it's sometimes useful to assist in fixing packages when java-X-openjdk packages get updated.
Becoming provenpackager would help with both cases above.
