#1371 Nonresponsive maintainer: clockfor
Closed None Opened 9 years ago by dshea.

= phenomenon =
The email account for clockfor, clockfor@redhat.com, has been closed, so he understandably isn't responding to bugs. python-pyudev is the only package affected.

= background analysis =
I am skipping the attempts to contact via bugzilla on the basis of the invalid email address addendum to the nonresponsive maintainer policy. I have posted a message to devel@l.fp.o but am skipping the 7 day waiting period there on the basis that if clockfor hasn't done anything with the package in two and a half he probably doesn't want it real bad. If anyone objects to that then just sit on this a week and go from there I guess.

= implementation recommendation =
Reassign python-pyudev to me (dshea@redhat.com)

Someone on devel knows Chris and forwarded him the message. I received the following reply:

Sorry, I left Red Hat a while ago. Please take over maintainership of
pyudev, which hopefully is the only project that I had under my
maintainership (I just added it as a dependency while working on a
different project at red hat, if I recall).
(I would respond to your message in channel, but I haven't been subscribed
to fedora devel lists in quite some time)

+1 from me WRT [comment:2 comment2]

+1 from me as well.

We may want to also try to ask Red Hat to put together an SOP for handing off packages when an employee departs (unless they specifically request to maintain ownership).

+1 here.

We actually do have a process in place... we get notice when a RH person is leaving and they are owner/cc in bugzilla. This must have been before we had that in place...

FESCo agreed to reassign python-pyudev to dshea (+5, 0, -0)

I have reassigned the package to dshea.
