Many moons ago, a 3rd party repo policy was produced and became part of FESCo's documentation. Years later, a new 3rd party repo policy was approved by Fedora Council, but ended up living on the workstation working group wiki pages rather than replacing the FESCo version. Since then, at least one change was approved by Council and was committed to the FESCo version. The two policies diverged.

Recently, the workstation working group wanted a small change to the policy, to allow making subsets of larger repos available under the 3rd party repo policy. It was at this point that they realised that there were two versions of the policy, and resolved to get them merged at the same time as requesting their policy change.

The requisite changes were presented to Fedora Council, who deferred the decision to FESCo. The changes were then passed to FESCo as part of PR 32. FESCo members then created a counter-proposal as PR 34.

That's as far as we've got. There's never been a tracking issue on the FESCo side, which is why I've created this ticket.
