#93 Guidance on permitted size of fedora-workstation-backgrounds
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by catanzaro. Opened 4 years ago by aday.

We are currently discussing updating the content of fedora-workstation-backgrounds. One thing I'd like to do is expand the number of backgrounds that we include, possibly from the current 15 to around 23.

The existing set totals around 45 MB. Based on that, the expanded set would total around 70 MB. Would this be acceptable from an ISO size perspective? Having some general guidance on how much space we can safely add to the image would be useful.

Current rawhide size of WS Live: 1984790528

So this might push us past 2GB flash drives - but so would anything else. .. and 4GB drives are not noticeably more expensive even in bulk.

Main downside would be increased download time - my opinion: it would be fine if that makes background switching give people more warm Fedora fuzzies.

The existing set totals around 45 MB. Based on that, the expanded set would total around 70 MB.

We agreed to allow ~75 MB.
