#43 Add RPM Fusion NVIDIA driver as 3rd party repository
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago Opened 3 years ago by kwizart.

Name of application: RPM Fusion NVIDIA driver
Description of Application: This is the binary driver offered by NVIDIA for Linux users. It is a requirement for various applications and provides the best performance for users with NVIDIA hardware. Thanks to the work done on glvnd we can now offer it without package conflicts with Mesa.

Type of repository: RPM

URL for repository: https://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/metalink?repo=nonfree-fedora-nvidia-driver-$releasever&arch=$arch
(starting with releasever=28 and for all arches, there are empty repo when not relevant)

License for application submitted: Proprietary - http://www.nvidia.com/object/nv_sw_license.html

Is packager application owner or developer? No, this is a external repo hosted by the RPM Fusion community. NVIDIA already host a repository (for EL and Fedora) based on the RPM Fusion packaging, so any improvements occurring in RPM Fusion will be found in the NVIDIA provided repositories. NVIDIA and RPM Fusion links are already active.
See https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/CUDA

If not owner or developer do you have permission to package this either through license terms or directly from owner? Yes, NVIDIA are explicitly allowing Linux redistribution in 2.1.2 of their license.

Is there a group of people maintaining this repository? Yes, this repository is maintained by the RPM Fusion community project.
https://lists.rpmfusion.org/archives/list/rpmfusion-developers@lists.rpmfusion.org/

If you are a single person behind repository what are you contingency plan in case you are unavailable or lose interest or have an accident? RPM Fusion is a 10 year old project that already has switched once of primary coordinator. Few people have admins rights to the project and could take-over.
The project also rely on community resources https://rpmfusion.org/Contribute.

How do we contact you in case there are problems? How do we contact you in case there are problems? https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Fedora and choose xorg-x11-drv-nvidia as component.

For the infra side: root @rpmfusion.org
