I installed a F36 nightly image today, and can see that it includes the latest development version of nautilus, which uses the in-progress GTK 4 port. This is very obviously not ready for distribution, as there are all kinds of UI issues:
Hopefully these issues will be resolved upstream, either by fixing all the bugs, or by shipping an old version of nautilus for GNOME 42. But let's track this ourselves to make sure that it is fixed in time for F36.
The gtk4 port in nautilus was reverted upstream with 42.beta (which is currently sitting in f36-gnome as well as rawhide), and the tracking bug upstream is now targeted for GNOME 43: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/276
Yep, I see that in my test install now. Thanks @amigadave !
