#174 First page of initial setup looks bad
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by aday. Opened 3 years ago by aday.

I've been pushing this upstream for some time, but it is primarily a Fedora Workstation issue, so I'm filing it here too, for tracking.

#21 introduced an unfortunate side-effect: after going through installation, the first initial setup screen looks like this. It's very empty, and not very attractive. Not a great thing to see in your first experience.

We have mockups for an updated design, here. The original designs had an animated transition for the icons, but a static image would do.

We should have Fedora-specific branding here with the updated design. (cc: @duffy).

The relevant page is part of a wider revamp of the initial experience, and there has been some thought put into where it makes most sense to add downstream branding elements within that. So, yes, we can and should talk about that (and I was planning on doing that), but it's a wider conversation.

Also, the upstream design is somewhat in flux (partly due to implementation considerations), so we should probably wait until it has landed (if indeed it does - I've been pushing this for 2 years and have so far failed to attract any developer interest).

Main branding element is #175 .
