#169 Remove Weather from the default app set
Closed: Can't fix 3 years ago by aday. Opened 3 years ago by aday.

The Weather app has always been fairly poor quality. It was redesigned during the GNOME 3.38/F33 development cycle, but still has a way to go before we can call it good.

My suggestion would be to remove Weather from the default set until it reaches an acceptable quality level. Sure, it wasn't good before, but going from one poor quality UI to another poor quality UI isn't a great look. If there's going to be a significant UI change, it ought to be an improvement.

My personal opinion is that the Weather redesign isn't good enough at the moment to ship out of the box. The problem is that we need Weather for the shell integration, so we might be stuck with it.

We don't have an adequate replacement or the ability to split this up to preserve the GNOME Shell integration, so this is postponed until that is figured out.

Let's just close it - there's no obvious fix at the moment.
