As per title.
I would like to work on this issue. Can I have additional details on how to proceed with the issue?
What do you mean by "Port" here?
Hi everyone! Here's the deal. :) We have a new system for websites, that lives in this git repo (https://pagure.io/fedora-web/). There is an older one using an older templating system, and that's at https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/.
The current IoT site is in the old one, at https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/blob/master/f/iot.fedoraproject.org. That needs to be ported to the new system and moved to this repo.
Thanks for the clarification! Can you please check this link: https://pagure.io/fedora-web/ ? It says Page Not Found for me.
@aashnajena , I suppose @mattdm is talking about this repo https://pagure.io/projects/fedora-web/%2A ... as far as I understood.
Okay, I understand what I need to do now. I checked out both the old and the new websites repo. However, I'm not able to build the old websites on my pc. I'm using ubuntu 16.04. Is there a different way to build the old website on non-Fedora systems?
Hi! I am an Outreachy applicant and would like to contribute to Fedora Project Websites. I read the contribution guide and set the development environment for websites. I also added its upstream. I want to know how are we planning to port sub-websites to a single website? Is it something like adding URL paths of old websites into the new website and adding files of old websites into the repo of new website accordingly? And what I can do to start making contributions to this project?
Hi everone. Getting started guide is at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/websites/.
If you're not using a Fedora OS as your desktop, the Docker setup method should get you started. Of course, we do recommend using Fedora systems to work on Fedora. :)
@codeblock ping :)
For others, please read: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Outreachy_March_2020
Hi everyone. As @riecatnor said, please use https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Outreachy_March_2020 as the getting-started guide.
This issue (#95), and all the others that are NOT alt.fedoraproject.org, will be done by the intern that gets picked. We are asking applicants to port alt.fedoraproject.org only, as per the wiki link above.
Thanks all, and pleasure to meet you!
