Now that we finally have an official Mastodon account we can kill two birds with one stone, adding a Mastodon icon at the bottom of the page, together with the other social media and, at the same time, add the necessary link you need to get the verified checkmark in the account itself, which is the recommended way of guaranteeing that your account is official:
<a rel="me" href="https://fosstodon.org/@fedora">Mastodon</a>
Chatted with @darknao in the websites Matrix and we're looking to be in a good spot.
For reference, here's the documentation I found on implementing this on the site.
https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/profile/#verification
https://opensource.com/article/22/11/verified-mastodon-website
And here is the brand toolkit that darknao found to add the logo as a little icon in the footer.

I've added the link. I think the mastodon profile needs to be saved again to pick up the changes. Let me know if it's working.
I took out and readded the link and now it works like a charm. I even noticed the Mastodon logo at the bottom of the page. Thanks so much!
Shall we close this then :)
Oh yeah, sorry, forgot to do that
