#137 get fedora: alternative download page: Netinstall is marketed as Server edition
Closed: Wontfix 3 years ago by bcotton. Opened 3 years ago by augenauf.

I noted that on https://alt.fedoraproject.org/en/ the netinstall image is marketed as Server edition. I think this is misleading and playing down the huge potential of this image.

As far as I am aware, the netinstall image, by default, isn't a certain edition. It is rather a tool to install any edition the user may want.

Should we change that?

(I point a lot of people to the netinstall image since this, in my personal opinion, is the best way to install Fedora. 1.) You download a small iso 2.) You download exactly the packages your software selection requires, and 3.) you end up with an up-to-date system (no need to download gigs and gigs of updates, which is soooo inconvenient with a Live system install).

Would https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issues be the right place to post an issue about alt.fpo.org?

Yes, alt is still in the old repo, so that's the right place to report issues for now.

As another comment though: ouch, that's still 677MB! I wonder if Fedora Minimization cares. Ping @asamalik. :)
