    source-git: Squash patches by patch name
    
    Instead of relying on a dedicated commit metadata field
    (squash_commits), squash adjacent patch files if they have the same
    name.
    
    Keep the 'squash_commits' mechanism around for backwards compatibility.
    
    Fixes #1271.
