#2 add wireless support to comps for fedora server
Closed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by kevin.

Many arm devices use wireless and the server image, so it would be nice to add that support in.

This might be just Firmware or also NetworkManager-wifi or the like.

@sgallagh and @pbrobinson

So the firmware is already shipped as it's in the hardware-support group. I believe we just need to add NetworkManager-wifi (which is very low deps, likely adds just itself) to the standard install which in turn then makes it available via the various bits that use the NM interface for configuring (initial-setup etc). We already have it in minimal and it works OOTB there :)

I think we just have to add NetworkManager-wifi to the server-product group? @sgallagh should be able to confirm

Pull-request for fedora-comps is submitted.

It may have to wait until after beta freeze at this point, unless we want to push for a Freeze Exception.

This is still waiting on rel-eng to build a newer version of fedora-release, which did not happen prior to Final Freeze. This issue is therefore currently unaddressed. @pbrobinson would you mind prodding rel-eng to do so?

@sgallagh why does this need a new fedora-release? The comps change was merged post beta. What have I missed?

Oops, I misread which component we were merging. You're right, this should be fine now. Sorry, most of the changes I've had to make lately with rel-eng have been merging presets, so I guess I got into a habit of assuming fedora-release rebuilds were needed.
