#262 Add tests for Server installation using software raid and biosboot
Opened 3 years ago by pboy. Modified 2 years ago

Server WG would like to have 2 new tests:
1)
Install Server on software raid using biosboot and GPT
Description at https://pagure.io/fedora-server/issue/87 Testcase 1 GPT

2)
Install Server on software raid using biosboot and MBR
Description at https://pagure.io/fedora-server/issue/87 Testcase 2 MBR

The former is a bit urgent as there is a accepted Change Proposal to switch everything to GPR with F37. Curently it doesn't work and ends up in a non-bootable system. With the switch and the bug we would make Server unusable for a unknown number of current users. There is also a bugzilla entry: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2092116

The latter used to work, at least up to F33/34. There is a report is does not anymore.

For clarity, the requested tests differ somewhat from our existing software RAID test. Our custom installation software RAID test works by using the "automatically create devices" button, then changing the root partition to be software RAID. This leaves /boot, and the BIOS boot partition if required, on a single disk. The request here is to test having some kind of redundancy for those too - have /boot also be software RAID, and create one BIOS boot partition per disk (they cannot actually be RAIDed).
